WHIN assisted NDOW with a Mule Deer winter range and migration project. The initiative involves fitting 45 deer with GPS collars to track their migration patterns and winter range habits. Each deer underwent a thorough check-up, including an ultrasound to assess pregnancy and number of fetuses, blood sampling, COVID testing, as well as recording weight and age. Funding for the project came from WHIN, MVWU, NBU, and additional grants provided to NDOW.
